AFTER the nightmare that was the last round I couldn't be happier that I will be able to hit the sand in Perth this weekend.

The short turnaround has given me and my sister Bonnie a chance to make up for what was a really disappointing round for both of us.

Going into last week's round in Newcastle I was very excited to get back to the site of my first event as an ironwoman, but unfortunately things didn't go to plan.

It was my worst race of my career and I have been a bit down on myself this week but that is the nature of sport and you have to take losing as well as you take winning.

Bonnie and I decided to travel straight from Newcastle to Perth so we would have a full week to prepare for tomorrow's fourth round of the Kellogg's Nutri-Grain Ironwoman Series.

The extra few days in Perth have given us a time to adjust to the time difference and acclimatise to the hot weather over here. …
