HARTLEPOOL are again likely to be without liverwire forward James Poole when they host Carlisle United tomorrow.

He injured his hamstring in the Boxing Day win at Oldham, and while there were hopes that he could return, it seems as though the injury will be a six week one.

That's the normal time for the sort of injury he suffered, though sometimes they heal more quickly.

Since Neale Cooper returned to the club as manager Pools have fared well, even without the flair of Poole.

Colin Nish comes into the frame for tomorrow, having played a full 90 minutes in the reserves' midweek win against Gateshead.

After a long run of home defeats Pools arrested the slide in their last match at Victoria Park, by beating Rochdale 2-0, and Cooper hopes that is the end of their home turf horror.

Pools are nicely established in mid-table, while Carlisle are fighting for a play-off berth.

They are currently three points outside the zone, but have a game in hand.

They have won five times on their travels, losing three, while Pools have won only three times in front of their own fans, but are in the mood to add to that tally.

The visitors have won two and drawn four of their last six games so will be a tough nut to crack.

However Pools are unbeaten in three, beating Dale, then drawing at Exeter, and impressively, Sheffield Wednesday. …
