Coast Gives Workers Its Pass to Lifestyle

IN the latest attempt to lure cashed-up mine workers to the Fraser Coast, more than 600 New Hope Group employees have been offered tourism discounts through the new My Fraser Pass initiative.

The first round of My Fraser Pass cards were handed out in New Hope Group's payslips last week and workers have already begun activating their cards.

The project has been funded by Fraser Coast Regional Council to cash in on the mining boom and potentially entice mine workers to move to the region.

More than 20,000 households in Gladstone have also received the cards as part of the first drop.

Once the cards are handed out, mine workers can visit www.myfraserpass.com to activate them and claim discounts across the region, including at major resorts, fishing charters, adventure sports and other deals.

Fraser Coast Council chief executive Lisa Desmond said the My Fraser Pass would also encourage workers to move permanently to the area as fly-in, fly-out workers. …
