TUESDAY was, well, simply flat out.

I think my eyes were close to falling out of my head before I left.

But that didn't matter because I was on cloud nine.

On Tuesday I got to spread my sports journo wings.

Now I am not a Broncos fan, and I won't tell you who I go for or I might get booed out of Gladstone.

But I am a fan of rugby league.

And on Tuesday I got to interview Darren Lockyer.

I got to tap into his wealth of football knowledge and have a chat to the legend himself.

Okay, okay, it may have been over the phone but it was definitely a highlight in my sport reporting career.

I was under strict instruction to call Lockyer at 9am. The nerves set in the minute I woke up, this was a big deal.
