Axel Is Loving Life; Where Are They Now

BELGIAN shepherd Axel was picked up from the Central Coast after a topsy turvy start to life. In January, Alan gave us a call looking for that breed and once they came to Happy Paws, Axel was at the top of their list. After a bit of paperwork rigmarole, Axel was soon off to his new home with Alan and his wife Perri at Uki.

We received this update:

aWell we made it home in one piece. We slowly introduced the two dogs, on a part of the property well away from the house, by walking them on the leads, slowly getting closer. Lara was freaking out and not willing to get very close at all. But once Axel (now Max) realised that Lara was a little different, he pulled away, stood about a metre away and just looked away. He was very patient and eventually tried to play gently.

aMax is settling in well and we love his sweet nature. We are also discovering some of the more challenging aspects of Max now. He is not very impressed with anything that resembles a stick, even an extended measuring tape scares him, so we feel he must have been hit, which is very sad. …
