Raymont Proves Too Quick around Circuit; Rivals Left to Battle out Minor Placings

AIDAN Raymont driving his BA Ford Falcon took out the NSW Modified Production Sedan Championship at Lucas Oil Lismore Speedway on Saturday night.

Gympie-based Raymont was never seriously challenged during the 35-lap final and raced to a convincing victory over local star Greg Worling (VT Holden Commodore) and South Burnett's Gavin Fletcher (XF Ford Falcon).

Raymond took full advantage of his upfront starting position in the field and turned on a magnificent performance after he had lapped all but Worling and Fletcher at the fall of the chequered flag.

With Raymond well clear of his nearest rivals, the highlight of the event was the battle for the minor placings.

Worling and Fletcher swapped positions several times in an enthralling dice that continued right to the finish.

It was a tough night for defending titleholder Todd Doyle (Holden Commodore) who failed to start in the final after his car was badly damaged when he hit the safety fence during the second round of heats. …
