Lockwood Freezes Prices and Ups the Limit

PRICES have been held and bag limits increased at Lockwood Beck Trout Fishery which opens for the new season at 8am on Saturday, March 3. The lake will be stocked with 1,000 rainbows from 1lb 8oz to 12lb a few days before the opening.

For further information go to www.lockwoodfishery.co.uk It has been a quiet week at Chatton where two aerators have kept Chatton Lake mostly ice free despite struggling with the freezing conditions at times.

Anglers who braved the conditions to record good bags included John Cowell from Bedlington who caught 13; Alan Morton from Newcastle and John Short from Norham who each landed nine; Malcolm Proudlock from Catchgate who kept three and returned five; and Robbie Bell from Berwick who caught seven.

Chatton Lake is fully booked on Sunday but Ross Lake and Dunnydeer Lake will be open as normal if free of ice. Anglers should call 01668 215226 to check conditions before setting off. Flies working well this week have been Cat's Whiskers, Yellow Dancers, Black Bunny Leeches and Buzzers. …
