Kids Get Jump on Regional Competition; Gladstone's Little Athletes Travel to Hervey Bay for Championships

DESPITE the horrendous heat, Gladstone's little athletes performed admirably at the regional championships.

With a spring in their step and an undeniable passion to perform, Gladstone kids travelled to Hervey Bay and showed the rest of the region just what they could do.

At the regional championship 41 Gladstone kids competed and a whopping 35 progressed to the next step.

A fantastic effort.

In March those 35 little athletes will travel to Brisbane for the State Championship.

Gladstone Athletics Club vice-president, John Sherriff said it was a good effort by the children.

He said Gladstone usually placed well in these events but it was always good to see the kids working hard.

C[pounds sterling]These kids performed really well and a lot of them did personal bests Co they have all done well,C[yen] he said.

Despite the day being a scorcher and the possibility for dehydration high, there was no faltering for Gladstone's competitors. …
