FINANCIAL woes at the Isis RSL Club has led to the Wide Bay District RSL executive taking over its administration.

The Isis club has been trading at a loss for several years, which has put the club's future in jeopardy.

The club was also rocked by two break-ins last year, and lost $8000 of takings.

Isis RSL president Warren Young has resigned and the club will be under the guidance of management consultant Ian Jones and Wide Bay Burnett District RSL vice president Malcom Webb. Mr Jones said he and Mr Webb had stepped in at the request of Mr Young.

aHe recognised that he couldn't turn the club round and he asked for the district's help so they've come to the party,a he said.

There was a small risk the club could fold, he said, but he was confident they would overcome the debts.

aWe do have a bit of debt, but my personal opinion is that it can trade its way out of trouble,a he said. …
