JUNIOR indoor hockey players Chloe Duroux, Nick Pate, Josh Rose, Josh Cumberland and Brayden Lollback recently returned from a successful weekend in Canberra representing NSW in the Under 13s Invitational tournament.

The boys and girls played excellent hockey all weekend with both their respective teams taking out the finals.

These juniors are the latest Grafton players to earn NSW representation in a sport which is rapidly growing in many parts of the state and which only made a return to Grafton five years ago.

aSix years ago my son Mitchell was invited to play for Central Coast in a NSW championship and we were both taken with the speed, skill and intensity of the game,a former junior indoor co-ordinator Jeff Thomas said.

aReturning home, Grafton Men's Hockey as it was then, gave the okay to try and get a competition started and after a fair bit of organising work and a lot of help from people such as Liz Weller, Dave Ross, and Sue Jurd, we were able to commence a junior competition. …
