GAINESVILLE | For a program that missed out on several prospects on national signing day, Florida fared pretty well in coach Will Muschamp's first full year recruiting.

The Gators' signing class was ranked nationally in the top five by four major recruiting services on Wednesday evening. ranked UF third, while placed the Gators fifth. Both and 247Sports had Florida fourth. Not bad for a team coming off a 7-6 season.

"Real pleased with how recruiting went," Muschamp said. "I think our staff did an outstanding job."

UF announced 23 new signees, but there's another addition that could still be coming. Olney (Md.) receiver Stefon Diggs will announce his intentions on Feb. 10. He is considered the nation's eighth overall prospect by Rivals and would fill the last remaining need for the Gators.

UF lost out on Tampa Berkeley five-star receiver Nelson Agholor, who signed with Southern California, and a few other elite recruits, but did make a couple of late additions.

"I think Dante had a good fit here at Florida," Muschamp said. "We're excited to add another good pass rusher to our program."

In response to losing Agholor, Florida quickly offered Tallahassee Lincoln receiver Raphael Andrades, who accepted and signed with the Gators. Andrades (6-0, 190) is a three-star prospect, according to Rivals.

Muschamp frequently mentioned Florida's need to get bigger and deeper along both lines of scrimmage last season. …
