STARING down the blade of a knife, Coffs Harbour taxi driver Rob Williams found himself in a position no-one should ever face.

Mr Williams, who has been a cabbie for just 18 months, was the victim in an alleged armed robbery over the weekend.

The matter is now before the courts, after detectives arrested two males, 17 and 19, just 18 hours after the incident.

aThere was a moment where I feared for my safety. I was shaken up after it, it's not the sort of knee trembler you want on a Sunday night,a Mr Williams said.

aIn a previous life, as a building society manager, I had a shotgun pointed at me twice in the space of a couple of weeks. It's never nice to be in such a dangerous situation, but as long as you follow protocol and procedure you should be right.a

The drama unfolded after Mr Williams picked up a fare at the Banana Coast Caravan Park.

He collected two males and two girls and drove them to Mount Bishop Rd, Karangi, where the two girls ran from the vehicle. …
