THE circus comes to town - at the double - on Teesside next week.

Great circus shows will on offer at both Darlington's Civic Theatre and Billingham's Forum Theatre.

The Chinese State Circus featuring the first UK appearance of the formidable Shaolin Master known only as "The One" returns to the Civic from Monday until Wednesday.

This extravaganza showcases traditional Chinese acts, unpredictable and exhilarating twists of foot juggling with drums; the famous swinging poles; the sensational contortionist and the dynamic hoop divers with their amazing somersaults, leaps and jumps.

Then from Friday, March 16 The Moscow State Circus - right - will be at the Forum Theatre.

This new show, Babushkin Sekret, is inspired by legend of the 12 Chairs.

Set in Soviet Russia in 1927, a former member of nobility, works as a desk clerk, until his grandmother reveals on her deathbed that her family jewellery had been hidden from the Bolsheviks in one of the 12 chairs from the family's dining room set. …
