The Heiress and Her Mother the Former Escort. ... Catwalk Beauty and Her Mum's Past Life

Article excerpt

HER mum was an escort and pal of Heather Mills, but Chantelle Pidgley is one of Britain's most eligible young women. The model has recently become an heiress who stands to inherit a trust fund of pounds 1m plus from the family's house building empire.

But today, after returning to her home town of Newcastle, down to earth Chantelle insisted she was keeping her feet firmly on the ground.

The 19-year-old is attracting the spotlight for a very different reason to mum Denize Hewitt, who's been involved in kiss and tells in the past.

Chantelle, who was born in Newcastle but lives in London, returned home for a fashion show for River Island in Eldon Square.

"Modelling is just something that kind of happened for me but I'm so happy it did because it's really fun and you get to meet some interest people along the way," said Chantelle.

Mum Denize said she couldn't be prouder of her daughter who is taking the road of high-end fashion instead of going down the glamour route as she did as a teenager. The 46-year-old said: "She's only been modelling for just over a year as I made sure she completed her studies and she got her A Levels before she got into it.

"I wouldn't let her do it any earlier because I did it at 16 and that was far too early."

Denize hit the headlines after allegations Heather Mills worked as a high-profile call girl.

The claims were denied by Ms Mills but Denize's own past as a working girl in the late 80s and early 90s emerged.

But determined not to let her past impact on her children, Denize vowed to be the best mum she could and has been on hand to offer advice to Chantelle.

Chantelle said: "She does give me good advice and she knows a lot of people. The best advice she's given me is to be confident and outspoken but also to remember to be down to earth."

One lesson Denize was determined to instill in daughters, Chantelle and Chloe, 18, was for them to learn the value of money following their coming of age which gave them access to trust funds of more pounds 1m each. …
