HORIZON: OUT OF CONTROL? 9PM, BBC2 We tend to think of the unconscious as all phallic symbols and Keira Knightley getting spanked by Michael Fassbender in A Dangerous Method, but there is more to it than that. Ben Lawrie's entertaining film observes scientists anaesthetising ants and gluing weeny rucksacks to their backs, ladies knitting inside MRI scanners and a golfer with the yips, all in the interests of revealing the hidden secrets of the human brain.

FROST ON INTERVIEWS 9PM, BBC4 This guided tour to the art of interviewing by the venerable practitioner of that black art, David Frost, might look like a gentle trundle through a bunch of clips, but turns out to be far more incisive than that. Frost's own interviewing career spans the spectrum from heavyweight political bout to celebrity love-in, and he's got some wonderful examples of both. He has an uncharacteristic (and, rather disappointing) fit of diffidence about his own great interviews, of which we see only tiny clips, but there are some corking examples of other people's work: Mrs Thatcher gives Brian Walden a right handbagging ("If anyone's coming across as domineering, Brian, it's YOU! …
