Verdict:

A ROM-COM to rival a Nicholas Sparks weepie, A Little Bit Of Heaven is not afraid to tug on the heart-strings.

Centered around a slightly deeper premise than your typical rom-com, it is a film about a woman discovering she has cancer, realising the need for love and discovering there is a god (of sorts; Whoopi Goldberg is more a genie than a god).

Kate Hudson is the heroine, Marley, a sassy and spirited girl living in New Orleans and working in advertising. Career-focused and fun-loving she doesn't want to be tied down romantically.

When she is diagnosed with colon cancer, she adopts a brazen wisecracking attitude, cracking jokes and flirting with her doctor all in order to keep her friends at arms length and avoid any emotionally-charged conversations. …
