Still a A[euro][approximately]mug' after 30 Years

Article excerpt

TOOWOOMBA tax accountant Frank Moore was given a pewter mug as a parting gift from staff 30 years ago when he left the tax office in the Garden City.

The mug carried the inscription: aFrank. From your friends, Toowoomba Tax Office May 1981a.

At some stage early into the ensuing years, the mug went missing from a display cabinet at home and though initially puzzled as to its whereabouts Frank gave it no further thought.

It was indeed and Whispers was pleased to reunite owner and mug this week.

However, Frank is now left wondering as to how the mug found its way out of the family home and into the second-hand store after all these years.

Lack of excitement upon learning of the mug's rediscovery among good wife and offspring hasn't avoided his suspicions.

However, no sooner had birthday boy settled into the shopping trolley basket than a police vehicle pulled up across the road.

aCome on boys, act your age,a the constable called to the trio, prompting birthday boy to alight from the trolley quick smart.

The policeman's advice to act their age was spot on, given that the three are aged 48 and 49 respectively.
