A selection of offences from the magistrates'' courts Wayne Dixon, 43, Shieldfield House, Newcastle. Sentenced to 23 weeks in prison after pleading guilty to entering a room at the Holiday Inn, Jesmond, on January 5 and stealing a laptop. The offence put him in breach of a six-month conditional discharge imposed last month. Paul Douthwaite, 24, Caradoc Close, Washington. On March 10, Douthwaite threw a firework whilst on Shields Road, Byker, which caused obstruction, annoyance or danger to residents. He pleaded guilty to this offence and one count of using threatening behaviour. A two-year conditional discharge was imposed. His remaining fireworks were destroyed. Michelle Dover, 47, Sceptre Place, Elswick, Newcastle. Dover was disqualified from owning pets in 2010, but was found to be in possession of a cream dog named Max and a grey-and-white cat.

She pleaded guilty and was sentenced to a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay costs of pounds 85 to the RSPCA.

Kenneth Neill, 37, Wilfred Street, Byker, Newcastle. Stole two pairs of socks to the value of pounds 5.99 from the St Oswalds Hospice shop, Byker, on February 16.

Neill was also found to be in possession of amphetamine on March 8. Received a 12-month conditional discharge after a guilty plea.

Gareth Wilde, 29, High House Gardens, Felling, Gateshead. Pleaded guilty to obstructing a male police officer in the course of his duties in Gateshead on January 6. Wilde must pay fees and costs of pounds 255, which will be deducted from his benefit claim.

Marc Robson, 25, Haughton Crescent, West Denton, Newcastle. Admitted assaulting a police community support officer in Gateshead on December 30. Robson initially failed to appear at court on January 11. He was fined pounds 80 and given a 12-month conditional discharge. …
