Article excerpt

Alison Ellerbrook works from home in her attic workshop making lampshades and cushions for her interiors website Hunkydory Home, so she's often nipping down to the kitchen for a cuppa.

The 34-year-old mum of one shows us the kitchen of her modern four-bedroom home in Prudhoe.

1 Cow painting: Thepainting is an originaloil of a cow called Rose by Sue Moffitt (www.suemoffitt.com). Ilike to buy art by North East artists and Sue Moffittis based just on the otherside of the A69. This is mymost precious possession. I love the colour and the factthat Rose looks so gentleand friendly 2 Round table: The round dining table is from www.made.com, a website enabling you to buy designer furniture at a fraction of the High Street prices. Their range is always changing, you do have to wait for things to be manufactured but it's worth it as the quality is great. It goes perfectly with our IKEA chairs too.

3 Cork stool: The Champagne cork stool, below, is from Hunkydory Home. It's solid cork and weighs more than 10kg. It's a great conversational piece and has been a really big seller this year.

4 Fish bowl: The Fish Hotel fish bowl, above, is from Umbra and we just got it and Goldie a couple of weeks ago for Izzy to keep as a pet. I love the square, modern design of it. The little windows give the fish lots of places to hide.

5 Cat clock: The Cat Clock I've had for a few years. It was a hunkydory item from an American designer but I no longer stock it. I love it for its retro style and the fact that the pendulum tail swings.

6 Curtains: I found the curtains at Factory Fabrics in Blaydon (which is now Curtain Superstore). I was looking for a retro style design with bright, fresh colour and I love them because they remind me of spring.

Where is your home? Prudhoe in Northumberland. …
