THE marriage of Miss Colleen Francis Sedger, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Sedger, of North Head Hotel, Iluka, and Mr. Barry John Newstead, of Casino, will take place at St. Mary's Church, Maclean today. The bride's attendants are Misses Judy Alvos and Carol Newstead. Best man is Mr. John Sedger, and groomsman, Mr. Pat Newstead.

THE death occurred in St. Vincent's Hospital, Sydney, of Mr. Francis Edward Gard. Born at Harwood Island 77 years ago, he spent 60 years in the district before moving to Sydney. He is survived by six daughters and four sons, all of whom reside in Sydney but were all born in the Maclean and Brushgove areas. Also surviving him is one brother and three sisters, one of whom is Mrs. Annie O'Brien, of Grafton, widow of William O'Brien.

MR. J. Leonard, secretary of the Yamba Chamber of Commerce gave an account of his visit to Sydney and his efforts to gain support for the family fishing contest in May. The main prize will be two weeks holiday on Hayman Island for two people. …
