Premiers' Depth to Be Tested in First Round

SIX members of Bilambil Jets' 2011 premiership-winning team will be missing from the line-up which faces Currumbin at Galleon Way tomorrow (4pm NSW) in the first round of the new Gold Coast Tweed Rugby League Bycroft Cup season.

But going on pre-season trial form, the Jets will go mighty close to flying high once again at the business end of the season.

They boast a formidable line-up of talented players from front-row to fullback and onto the bench a the depth at the club is amazing and despite losing six top-class footballers, the Jets will prove to be the testing material for all clubs in 2012.

The Jets have lost Tyler Chadburn and Tommy Rolls to the Titans Under-20s, Andrew Cross and Luke McNamara have headed to Mackay for work, James Marcus has joined Tweed Coast Raiders and Tim James headed to the Murwillumbah Mustangs.

Jets coach Jim Lenihan says he has been amore than happya with the Jets' performances during the trials and believes he has the personnel to retain their crown this year. …
