CAMPERS have been hard-pressed to find a spot to pitch the tent these holidays, with hundreds of holiday-goers already skirting Leslie Dam's edge.

In the week before Easter, Washpool Camping Reserve manager Peter Guy said camping numbers were usually high, but this year looked even better.

C[pounds sterling]It's hard to say how many we've got, but definitely a few hundred,C[yen] Mr Guy said.

C[pounds sterling]There was certainly a good number of phone calls in the lead up to these holidays this year, if not better than last year.C[yen]

Mr Guy said it was the usual perks of the dam that attracted campers, including new additions to the ecosystem.

C[pounds sterling]We had 65,000 yellow-belly fingerlings released into the dam (yesterday) so hopefully we can start pulling some of the older ones out,C[yen] he said.

With a near full dam the camping ground has slightly decreased in size, but Mr Guy said there was still plenty of room for everyone. …
