CENTRAL Queensland Institute of TAFE has joined forces with Energy Skills Queensland and NEATO Employment Services to provide free training to people in Gladstone who are interested in working in hospitality.

Energy Skills Queensland's Gladstone Workforce Skilling Strategy is providing opportunities for local jobseekers to be trained to meet the workforce needs of the business community.

As part of the program, CQ TAFE is providing a combined food and beverage and cookery training program at its Gladstone campus for 15 weeks.

The course will start in the next few months, on a date yet to be decided.

Cookery teacher Tim Wade said the training would prepare participants for all aspects of the hospitality industry.
