BROTHERS Akeef and Adil Hassan enjoyed a family double as Redcar ABC coasted to four wins on their home show at the Coatham Bowl.

Akeef was voted best junior of the night for his display in unanimously outpointing Sunderland's C McCulloch.

Senior featherweight Adil kept up his part of the bargain, flicking out his long arms and staying mobile to see off Sunderland's Lewis Smith, also on unanimous points.

A highly competitive bout saw Thomas Hill mix eye-catching hooks to body and head with composed boxing to beat East Middlesbrough's always game Michael Fryett, who made a brisk start to all three rounds before losing a very close majority decision.

Newcomer Aaron Ortiz switched between a wide stance when attacking and a tight guard while defending to comfortably beat North Shields' Peter Imeson on unanimous points.

Senior middleweight Marcus Cutter suffered a second round stoppage loss to Matthew Stewart (Sunderland) after a straight right hand sent him stumbling sideways for a standing count.

Henry Dean (Harrogate) defeated Ethan Riddoch on majority points and southpaw welterweight John John Quinn went down in a blaze of glory in a slender unanimous loss to Harrogate's Adam Townsend.

Quinn was undeterred when his nose went in the second round and kept piling forward, but he took a late eight count from one of Townsend's intermittent flurries as the North Yorkshireman edged a close unanimous call by 18-17, 26-23 and 16-12.

Schoolboy bouts saw Wellington ABC's Cameron Clark and Middlesbrough ABC's Connor Hastings take respective points wins against Redcar's Bob Dalton and Ben Jarvis.

Hastings' teammate Jamesie McDonough scored a debut unanimous win against Redcar's Ben Andrews, and McDonough's brother Martin had a skills exhibition with Luke Sayer.

SALMAN Khan took home the best junior trophy and Paul Meehan received top senior billing on South Bank ABC's show at Marton Country Club. …
