Drivers Speed in for Early Racing Sign-Up; New Entry System Set to Draw Big Numbers

AUSTRALIA'S largest drag racing event, the FUCHS Winternationals at Willowbank Raceway, looks set for a bumper turnout in 2012 after a huge response to a new early bird entry system.

Eight weeks out from the showpiece event, more than 330 entries had been received, including a stunning 68% of the expected Rocket Allstars Racing Series entrants.

Willowbank Raceway managing director Steve Bettes said early entrants have put their hands up and are getting the jumpstart on their preferred pit allocations.

C[pounds sterling]The next stage of our early entry concept closes on April 30 at 3pm so those who haven't already entered should get in quick to receive their discount,C[yen] Bettes said.

One racer who has already set his Winternationals campaign in motion is reigning Top Fuel champion Darren Morgan.
