ABOUT 50 students from various primary and secondary schools in the region are preparing for their participation in Creative Generation State Schools on Stage in July at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Gympie has sent a choir to the event since 2004.

The group will be part of a massed choir of about 700 students to perform with professional entertainers and talented solo students.

Each year the most talented dancers, performers, singers and musicians from Queensland state schools come together to stage one of the state's biggest performing arts events for the year.

The four arena-style stage shows will be held over two days, Friday and Saturday, July 20-21 at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Tickets go on sale through Ticketek on April 2.

This is a fantastic opportunity for our youth and their creative future to be involved in an event such as this.

The Gympie choir has been in training since the beginning of February to learn about 30 songs which include Adele's Rolling in the Deep, Billy Joel's The River of Dreams and The Longest Time and Brittany Spear's Circus which will be included in this year's performance. …
