Cocaine Addict Thief Back in Jail for Bulk Stealing Food

A SHOPLIFTER called Elvis who stole hundreds of pounds' worth of groceries to feed his crack cocaine addiction was jailed again.

Kenneth Elvis Bishop, 33, from Middlesbrough, also had convictions under 11 aliases and with different dates of birth, Teesside Crown Court was told.

He had 63 convictions for theft involving 122 offences since 1995, said prosecutor Oliver Thorne.

Bishop, who was last released from prison in July last year was given a 12-month suspended prison sentence in August and within a month he was caught back shoplifting again.

He targeted Spar and Tesco shops in Middlesbrough and he stole goods in bulk, added Mr Thorne.

His recent shoplifting began on February 7 with pounds 40 of gammon steaks and bacon from a Spar shop in Marton Road, Middlesbrough. Then a week later on Valentine's Day he stole pounds 123 of chocolates from the same shop, but he could not remember until police showed him stills taken from the CCTV security cameras. …
