The Cougars squad for the game against Queensland Academy of Sport at Jardine Park, 7pm kick-off:

Team:- Tim English, Matt Sauer, Dylan Kussrow, Jan Urban, Scott Smith, Jarod Lancaster, Troy Ruthven, Ben Millar, Rudi Mozr, Johnathon Sauer, Sander Waterland, Substitutes: Chris Swain, Michael Cay, Sean Jasperson, Bryce Ruthven, Joel Morrison.

Points: 12 Sunshine Coast, Brisbane Strikers, 11 Whitsunday Miners, 7 Capricorn Cougars, Far North Queensland Bulls. 4 Bundaberg Spirit, 1 North Queensland Razorbacks, 0 Queensland Academy of Sport, Gold Coast All Stars.

FOOTBALL: CQ Cougars coach Joe Fenech has done some tinkering with his team's line-up for tonight's match at Jardine Park against Queensland Academy of Sport and yet he has still been able to maintain a good balance.

The return of Jan Urban, Chris Swain and Jarod Lancaster from suspension is a boost while midfielder Johnathon Sauer has recovered from an injury received during the match against the Brisbane Strikers last week.

That leaves just Jordan Miller on the unavailable list but Fenech is pleased with his progress and expects him to be ready for action, after his knee injury, within a week or two.

Pace down the flanks is how Fenech likes his team to operate and therefore he has made a few little positional changes to ensure the Cougars play with width.

Overlapping fullback Rudi Mozr will start as wide man on the left while recent arrival Scott Smith can demonstrate his versatility with a start on the left hand side of the back four.

Ben Millar will get a start after coming on as a substitute against the Strikers.

Fenech has also gone for the in-form Sander Waterland to partner Johnathon Sauer and lead the Cougars' attack.

Both players are attacking midfielders who understand their roles, with the ability to interchange between the front running position and the link between striker and midfield. …
