THE Sunshine Coast appears poised for an improved economic future, with a new business survey showing marked improvements during the March quarter.

And at least one local businesswoman says a change of State Government is already helping

A Commonwealth Bank CCIQ Pulse survey of business conditions released yesterday said the public's overall economic outlook was improving. Business confidence has rallied strongly in the March quarter, returning to levels not seen since 2008 before the GFC.

The CCIQ has earmarked a change in State Parliament as the catalyst for the increase with the LNP promising legislative changes relating to payroll tax, red tape, and tighter economic and fiscal disciplines.

Sunshine Coast businesswoman Peta Simpson agreed she had felt a shift in the Coast's overall economic outlook since the LNP took power.
