ALAN Pardew does not think it is a case of win or bust for Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge.

It is a big night in the race for Champions League qualification with United set to take on Chelsea while Tottenham, currently sitting fourth, entertain relegation-haunted Bolton.

Fifth-placed United lost the initiative in the race of the Champions League on Saturday, but a positive result tonight - along with a Tottenham defeat - would see them gain the ascendancy once more. Defeat, on the other hand, could be damaging to their hopes of earning fourth spot. A blow, Pardew admits, but not necessarily a terminal one. "No (it wouldn't be over). Mathematically it would still be possible, and I''ve been involved in battles for promotion and fighting for cups, and it''s never over until it''s over.

"Wednesday night will be significant, there''s no getting away from that. It''s a big night for that Champions League position, but there are still two games left where things can change again. …
