Festival Finishes with a Big Bang; Free Family Entertainment All Day Tomorrow Concludes Spectacular Event

FAMILIES can enjoy a full day of free entertainment in the Ipswich CBD tomorrow.

The Ipswich Festival will culminate in more than nine hours of non-stop entertainment, beginning with Carnival Capers in the Ipswich City Mall, which will be followed by the Festival Parade and Street Party.

Carnival Capers will ease families into a fun party mood from midday, as buskers compete for attention by performing daredevil stunts and slapstick comedy.

Attendees can enjoy three hours of carnival-themed entertainment, and can vote for their favourite busker to see them win a prize.

The Carnival Capers chaos will ease at 3pm, shortly before Brisbane St fills with floats and giant puppets for the Festival Parade at 3.30pm.

The parade is the Ipswich Festival's traditional family favourite and will this year take on the theme of Tales of Discarded Treasure.

Community groups and local organisations will use recycled materials to decorate their floats and craft mascots and costumes. …
