FOR Melissa Morey, her Australia's Biggest Morning Tea event next month is more than an opportunity to raise money for the Cancer Council Queensland a it's also a way of remembering her mother and brother, who both died of cancer.

The Ipswich woman has decided to take on the CancerFree Challenge this year, and hopes to be the state's biggest fundraiser and win the opportunity to name a cancer research project after her mother and brother.

aI think being able to name a research project after my mum and big brother would be a beautiful way of remembering them,a Ms Morey said.

aI lost my mum to cervical cancer when I was only 12 and my brother found out he had cancer when he was 29.

aI remember he was at my 21st birthday party and he couldn't drink or eat, so he bartended.

aHis cancer spread very quickly and he was only alive for months. He was 29 when he died and he missed out on his daughter being born. …
