JAX Boldest Award Goes to City's Best; Online Voters Chose Best Company, Best Nonprofit and Best Project

The bold efforts of Jacksonville's innovative new companies, nonprofits and creative projects are being recognized by the JAX Boldest award.

The public voted online on the best of three categories - best company, best nonprofit and best project - in the regional contest sponsored by the JAXUSA Partnership, a division of the JAX Chamber.

Bookitout.com, Guidewell Health and Wellness Company and the Law Offices of John Phillips were the nominations in the company category. For nonprofits, it was Pit Sisters Rescue, Rethreaded and Wounded Warrior Project, and for projects, Adventure Landing's Winterfest 2011, Jacksonville Superfest and Jax Kids Book Club made the list.

Bookitout.com, Pit Sisters Rescue and Adventure Landing's Winterfest 2011 were presented the top prizes last week. Each received $500.

Pit Sisters Rescue was started in October 2011 by sisters Jen Watson and Sybil Turner in an effort to remove the stereotypes associated with pit bulls and educate the community. …
