Magpies Hope to Do the Double over Manchester Clubs

ALAN PARDEW is hoping to heap misery on moneybags Manchester City - just like he did when their title rivals came to St James' Park in January. The Newcastle United boss felt that the 3-0 win over Man United was one of his side's best performances of the campaign on Tyneside.

But both Sir Alex Ferguson - who was full of praise for the Magpies in the build-up to Sunday's potentially decisive fixture - and Man United fans won't have any complaints if their noisy neighbours leave Gallowgate in muted manner.

Pardew feels that his side have won the respect of the rest of the Premier League this season with Chelsea, Liverpool and Man United all tasting top flight defeats this term at some stage, while Arsenal and Spurs were also held to draws at St James'.

The Blues are the only top six side to take three points from Pardew's team on home turf.
