Karate Trio Make Solid Start to Competition Year

THREE young students from Yoseikan-Ryu Karate in Lismore have made a solid start to the year with good results at state and national tournaments.

Connor Jackson, Levi Brown and Connor Scarrabelotti participated in the NSW State Championships in Sydney where all three won medals and were selected in the NSW Karate Federation state team.

Levi won the state championship in her division.

This success came after the three competed at the Queensland Karate Association summer titles where they secured a haul of medals.

Connor Jackson added to his strong results with gold and bronze medals from the AKF Australian Open in Sydney last month.

Coach Todd Usher of Yoseikan-Ryu Karate, said the three were in their second year of elite level competition. aThey are progressing well and are looking forward to continuing their achievements at the national titles in August,a he said.
