WE WROTE: A mysterious discovery in Middlesbrough woodland could provide clues to the history of the area. Kevin Blanchard, right, is seeking answers after the find of pottery and artifacts near his home in Acklam in the area known locally as Foxes Wood.

YOU SAID: Having spent a lot of time rooting around in the woods in the countryside, I would say it's an old tip. I''ve seen large amounts of very old broken bottles/crockery in places you would least expect.

bingobango I grew up near to Foxes Wood and me and my mates would regularly find old bits of pottery, usually broken bits of blue and white with Chinese scenes on them. The most interesting thing we found though was an almost complete brown glazed pottery teapot, which we found half sticking out of the bank of the beck, about 100 yards to the left of the little wood near to Trimdon Avenue. …
