BRISK country air, cornflower-blue skies and the sound of horses clip-clopping along a bush track.

This is the scene of a typical day at Cowboy Up Trail Rides.

Peter Gould has taken his life-long affiliation with all things equine and, with the help of his wife Gill, turned it into one of the Darling Downs' best kept tourist secrets.

Cowboy Up Trail Riding takes place at the Gould's 215ha property at Emu Creek, 20km north of Crows Nest.

Mr Gould said there was something for everyone, with trail rides to suit both novice and experienced riders.
