IT was a night I will remember for the rest of my life - when I met my idols Westlife. After a begging letter to the show's producers and several phone calls to the manager of the arena, we'd cracked it.

We had managed to persuade them we were their biggest fans and that a few minutes with the lads back stage would be a dream come true for us.

I was just 12-years-old at the time, and the thought of meeting the boys, who took pride of place on my bedroom wall, was unbelievable.

Many of the girls at school were considerably envious, while others didn't believe me, and the boys, well, they didn't care. But before the show my pals and I couldn't sleep with excitement.

And after a long week of waiting for them to arrive in Newcastle, the day finally came. Our parents allowed us to take the day off school as looking our best was obviously the most important thing.

From the moment we got up, we spent most of the day having our hair, nails and make-up done, before making the most difficult choice of all. …
