Sony Winner Baker out to Raise Eyebrows with Tales of Racy Past

HE describes himself as the man from the Daz adverts who went into broadcasting. But Danny Baker has revealed he is working on a book about his wild child past which will "raise a few eyebrows".

He joked that he may have slept with more women than Tony Blackburn, who has boasted of more than 500 conquests.

Baker, 54, worked in a record store in London in the Seventies before becoming a music He was speaking at the Sony Radio Awards, where he collected the speech personality of the year prize for the second year running, a year after making a full recovery from mouth and throat cancer.

He told the Standard: "I've got a book coming out in October and I don't think people know my story at all. They think I'm just the fella who did the Daz adverts. But my life was lived before that, and I think eyebrows will be raised.

"I left school at 14 and was moving with Mark Bolan, Elton John and Rod Stewart in a record shop six months later. …
