AN EXTRA $7000 in your pocket should help people both buying and selling homes on the Fraser Coast, says MP Ted Sorensen.

Speaking from Brisbane, Mr Sorensen applauded the Cost of Living Bill as it was presented in parliament yesterday afternoon.

While the bill had many facets designed to ease the cost of living for Queenslanders, Mr Sorensen singled out the reintroduction of stamp duty concessions as something that would really help the Fraser Coast.

aThat extra $7000 will really help young families looking to buy a home, and it will also help older people looking to sell,a Mr Sorensen said.

This was because more people buying homes due to the stamp duty concession would obviously be a benefit to anyone with their home currently on the market.

Freezing the standard domestic electricity tariff (Tariff 11) would also save families an average of $120 this year, which was highly important with the ever-creeping price of electricity, Mr Sorensen said. …
