ON Saturday, May 5, at approximately 11am, I booked a wheelchair taxi to pick up my husband from Melaleuca Lodge at Eventide at 12.45 that same day.

This did not happen and my husband who is 79 years of age and very frail, waited outside in the sun for 30 minutes.

During this time I made two phone calls to your booking service and the staff at Eventide made one.

On each occasion we were told that you were busy and that one would be there shortly.

On the third and last call the staff members explained that I had in fact booked the taxi some two hours earlier, to be told that booking a taxi made no difference to its availability.

The person she spoke to also advised that they could not give any idea of when such a vehicle would be available.

I am 74 and the standing and waiting had its effect on me as well. …
