BULLET GRAZES STUDENT AT STANTON; NO ARRESTS

A Stanton College Preparatory School student was grazed by a bullet fired by an off-campus shooter Friday.

Sgt. Robert John of the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said a dispute at 14th Street and Myrtle Avenue turned into gunfire about 10:30 a.m. A bullet was fired, ricocheted off something metal and then grazed the leg of a student outside.

The unidentified student was not taken to a hospital because the wound was not serious, John said, and the school was on lockdown until the early afternoon.

John said police are still looking for the shooter and do not have a description.
