Winter Feature Candidates Shine in Barrier Trial Wins; Bold Glancereturn Near

TOOWOOMBA'S winter carnival stocks received an added boost at Clifford Park yesterday with stablemates Bold Glance and Carry Me Bluey shining in barrier trials.

Bold Glance and Carry Me Bluey both helped tune up for upcoming assignments with breezy 850-metre open heat wins for trainer Norm Hilton.

Bold Glance continued his comeback from throat laser surgery with 1A1/4-length win for apprentice Alannah Fancourt while Carry Me Bluey followed his uncharacteristic last-start Brisbane failure with an unextended victory.

Hilton has been unable to pinpoint the reason behind Carry Me Bluey's BRC Sprint failure at Doomben last Saturday week.

The four-year-old is paid up for Saturday week's Group One Stradbroke Handicap but is unlikely to make the field.

Carry Me Bluey will now be aimed at Saturday's Spear Chief Handicap (1500m) at Eagle Farm.
