WHEN Warwick girl Kelli Penn married her online match Ken Hawke after a whirlwind romance, she had more than one reason to celebrate.

Not only did their April 7 wedding occur on Easter Saturday, but it was also Kelli's birthday.

While these things would make a joyous addition to any wedding, there was one more thing that added a special touch to the big day.

Drinks flowed at the couple's reception and the bride's constant refusal to indulge in a glass of champagne soon had her confessing to her guests that she was actually five weeks pregnant.

The newly married couple are expecting their first child together in December, with the baby to be a little brother or sister to Kelli's five-year-old son from a previous relationship, Aiden.

Kelli said she had no idea her wedding day would clash with Easter Saturday when she began planning the day.

She said while there were so many other reasons to celebrate, it didn't take the focus away from the main event.

The new Mr and Mrs Hawke were married in an intimate ceremony, beside the banks of the Condamine River and surrounded by 25 family members and close friends.

The couple were officially declared man and wife after an eight-month relationship which ignited in front of a computer screen.

C[pounds sterling]We met on a dating site online and just instantly hit it off,C[yen] she said.

One week after the two met in person, Ken proved his commitment to the relationship and decided to make the move from Dalby to Warwick.

Although the decision came as a bit of a shock to some of Kelli's family members, she knew Ken was the one for her.

C[pounds sterling]He was just such a nice guy and I could tell he was different to other guys I have dated,C[yen] she said.

Kelli's son, Aiden, and Ken instantly became close friends and it wasn't long until their relationship grew to that of father and son.

Although the couple chose to forgo bridesmaids and groomsmen for the wedding, Kelli's friend Alicia Harris and Ken's friend Adrian Harding were the witnesses. …
