JUST 18 months on from picking up their first bow and arrow, Jaden and Lachlan Low are already champion archers.

At the Queensland Short Course Championships last month, 12-year-old Jaden won the C[pounds sterling]cubC[yen] age group Co 13 years and under Co and brother Lachlan, 9, finished second.

In June last year, with only three months of experience under his belt, Jaden competed for the first time at the national indoor championships and finished fifth.

Subsequently picked for the state team, he competed in Armidale at the Australian junior championships in January and defeated the current Australian champion in the all-ages match-play round.

C[pounds sterling]I heard him on the local news say that Queensland wouldn't be much of a challenge,C[yen] Jaden said.

C[pounds sterling]I really didn't think I was going to beat him, so I really surprised myself.'

The Low brothers have been training hard and are looking forward to the Queensland Field Championships from June 23-24 in the outer Brisbane suburb of Belmont. …
