NEW South Wales has taken home this State of Origin trophy 10 years in a row.

No, not the Blues who are without a series win in State of Origin for who knows how long.

It's in Oztag, where this NSW reigns supreme.

But now Queensland has a big chance to take the title with Caloundra Oztag hosting the State of Origin series for the first time.

More than 1100 players are expected to converge on the Arthur St rugby union fields on June 23 and 24.

Tournament director Leigh De Jersey said it was a coup for Caloundra to secure the series.

The Caloundra Oztag is the second biggest junior club in Queensland with 800 members, followed by Maroochydore.

The State of Origin will see players from under-11s to over-50s take the field for the opposing states.

aBefore last year, Queensland had never won any of the series in State of Origin,a Mr De Jersey said.
