SEVEN teams are vying for spots in the TRL top five at the mid-way point of the season and Warwick coach Gary Lawrence is keen to make it eight.

The closeness of the competition has been a highlight of the TRL season so far with just four points separating competition leaders Souths from seventh-placed Dalby.

So tight is the table after nine rounds, only a superior for-and-against has seen Brothers qualify for the Madsen-Rasmussen Trophy final against the Tigers despite Valleys and Oakey also boasting the same 6-3 record.

Fifth-placed Goondiwindi, Pittsworth and Dalby are tied just one win back which has the competition poised for an exciting run to the finals.

Warwick is a further four points behind seventh-placed Dalby but coach Gary Lawrence says his team can join the finals so long as his players remain patient. …
