ROSEWOOD Showgrounds was a hive of activity on Saturday as the community gathered for their annual show.

Hundreds flocked through the gates to enjoy the best in the region's cattle and equestrian, as well as traditional sideshow alley fun, rides and food.

Tahlia Cole, 5, proudly showed off her 11-month-old short-legged dexter, which won Reserve Champion in his category.

Mum Michelle Cole said the family were regulars at regional shows, but would miss this year's Ekka due to flood repairs still being done on their property.

Justin and Shandelle Voll, from Harrisville, said their children were used to rodeos and shows.

aThey've got all the get up a we spend most weekends at shows and rodeos,a Mr Voll said.

Geoff Nalder travelled from Ransom, near Capalaba, to take second and third prizes in the harness event on his anumber onea steed, Iris Sebn, a nine-year-old Australian miniature pony. …
