IN my innocence I thought that the carbon tax was to encourage major polluters to invest in clean energy. What a laugh. Why should they invest in anything different when all the tax is passed on to consumers? So it seems that the much-vaunted carbon tax is a tax, not on polluters, but on the long-suffering public.

The way the money raised from this tax resembles a Ponzi scheme more than a green initiative.

WHEN will this government listen to average hard-working families? Maybe it's their big plan to weed out the small stores and have everyone working for a handful of larger companies and increase public reliance on government handouts. I would be very surprised if more than 10% of carbon tax revenue actually goes towards emissions control.
