Durham Coach Sets In-Form Myburgh a Big Challenge

JOHANN MYBURGH has been challenged to convert consistent runs into big scores, starting tonight.

The 31-year-old South African has been one of the stars of Durham's Twenty20 Cup campaign after joining on a shortterm contract.

The Riversiders are hoping he can continue his form at home to Derbyshire tonight as they look to bounce back from Monday's humiliating defeat at Lancashire.

Myburgh has scores of 45 and 46 for Durham, but coach Geoff Cook want to see him go further still.

Cook said: "He has scored consistently but I am sure he would like to make turn some of those scores into 80s.

"When you look at the stats, we have one guy (Herschelle Gibbs) who has scored 50 this year." Myburgh has been without a club since being released by Hampshire in the winter, but has made an impressive start at Durham.

Cook added: "We have not talked about extending his contract yet.

"He is under contract for the Twenty20 and we are only halfway through. …
